Evergreen Acres is a Guernsey Goat breeder as well as a Grade A certified Producer of Raw Goat Milk, goat milk products and cheese. They are working to help establish the British Guernsey milking goat as an accepted dairy goat breed by the ADGA American Dairy Goat Association. The Golden Guernsey is a long haired dairy goat raised on the island of Guernsey in the British Channel Islands. They are an organic farm, not yet certified, located in the hills east of Hollister. They use organic no soy, no corn feed for their pasture raised ducks. Evergreen Acres Guernsey goat milk is known for its premium rich creamy high 5 to 6% butter fat milk which does not have that usual goaty "tang" after taste that you get from most larger milking goats such as Saanens and Alpines which typically have about 2 to 3% butter fat. Raw Guernsey Goat Milk is $10 a quart that includes a $2 returnable glass deposit and eggs sell for $1 each Extra Large or $1.25 for a 3 oz Jumbo egg. They also produce a rich raw "Goatgirt" a yogurt like product that is thick and rich in kefir enzymes and a stronger liquid Kefir that both sell for $8 in a glass pint jar. They are in 6 farmers markets in LA at Hollywood, Mar Vista, Torrance, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach and Palos Verdes and 2 in the Bay Area at Los Gatos, San Mateo. Stores carrying their milk are Three Stone Hearth, Berkeley Bowl and EL Cerrito Natural Grocery and Berkeley Natural Grocery in the Oakland Area, the Milk Pail, Bianchini, and New Seasons in the South Bay and New Leaf in Half Moon Bay, Felton, West Santa Cruz and Capitola. .
